COVID Testing in Denver. We know the team is ready to get back to work and preventing infections is a top priority. Ready to send the team traveling and to meetings in the Denver area? We have you covered with Rapid COVID testing for infection. Mobile Care uses a nasal antigen test or a nasopharyngeal PCR test, that looks for active infection, even if you have had the vaccine. This allows you to strongly encourage attendance at meetings while allowing employees a mechanism for testing. The best part, we come to your team! Visiting the mile high city for a meeting or conference, we can test groups of 6 or more, just let us know when and where.
Mobile Care uses a viral COVID test that tells you if you have a current infection. The viral tests look for the virus in your breathing passages and are used to determine if you are currently infected. There are two different types of viral tests:
This type of testing for COVID-19 infection looks for genetic material from the virus. This is usually called polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or NAAT. These tests are also sometimes referred to as molecular tests. NAAT’s are a type of viral diagnostic test that looks for SARS-CoV-2 specifically, which is the virus that causes COVID-19. NAATs detect genetic material in those who are tested. They specifically identify the RNA (ribonucleic acid) sequences that comprise the genetic material of the virus.
NAATs use material from either the upper or lower respiratory tract in order to gather tissue that contains genetic information. The NAAT procedure works by making copies of the virus’s genetic material and amplifying it. By amplifying the nucleic acids, testing agents can detect even the smallest amount of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. This makes these tests highly sensitive for testing for infection of COVID-19.
The other type of viral test is the antigen test. Antigen tests involve a slightly more complicated process that detects the presence of the COVID antigen. These tests are better known as “the swab” due to the nasal samples that are taken. Antigen tests for SARS-CoV-2 are generally less sensitive than the NAATs, but they are the better testing option for infection for those who are actively demonstrating symptoms.
These tests are also referred to as the “rapid tests” because the results are available within about 15-20 minutes. Antibody testing, also known as serology testing, is a form of blood test that’s done to find out if you’ve had a past infection with SARS-CoV-2. Antibodies are proteins produced by your immune system in response to an infection. Your immune system identifies foreign substances in your body and uses antibodies to help detect and fight infections. After infection with the COVID-19 virus, it can take two to three weeks to develop enough antibodies to be detected in an antibody test. This makes testing for antibodies useful to see if a person has had COVID-19 in the past several months.
